自橫貫公路台８線（及其公車站牌）有兩條路線可達 There are two routes one can take from Highway 8 (and its bus stops):

In theory you could also use your cell phone to call me for instructions at every wrong turn you will certainly make. Whereupon I would read pretty much the same instructions to you over the phone as are on the charts and maps here on this website. (Yes in theory. But what would happen if just at that final critical wrong turn, I happened to be already on the line with someone more important?

白天到， 否則嶺線山徑摸黑失蹤。 Get here in the daytime, or end up lost in the dark on the mountain ridge.
白天到， 午後等致命性雷雨前到， 否則看不到， 無法專心逐牌確認台電以及中華電信（舊或新款）桿牌不混淆， 必定迷路。 路為一車寬，又陡， 故車勿開冷氣以免過熱故障。 車停路旁勿堵任何路，擋風玻璃下留行動電話號碼。
Get here with plenty of daytime left and before any deadly afternoon etc. lightning storms, or else how will you confirm each and not confuse TaiPower electric, and Chunghwa Telecom telephone (be they old or new style) pole label to avoid getting lost? Note these are steep one-lane roads, so turn off your car air conditioner to avoid overheating. Park on the side, don't block any roads, leave your cellphone number under the windshield.
若開車，連自己地下停車場爬不出，勿試於山上。
If driving, be sure your car can climb out of its own underground parking lot before trying it on the mountain.
腳踏車者確有到達幾位， 但陡的路段仍用牽。 步行及自行車者能由一路上，另路下。 若任意選一路上另路下， 那就選慶福街水泥到家先上， 較複雜的燥坑回去。 （若天氣好，仍可由燥坑上， 挑戰與風景佳。） 回平地免圖表，一路下。
Bicycle riders have indeed got here, though the steeper parts they walked with their bikes. Hikers and bicycle riders indeed can go up one route and down the other. If randomly choosing, then pick Qingfu St., concrete to my door, to go up. The more complicated Zao Keng to go back down. (Or indeed the more challenging and scenic Zao Keng route up, if the weather is good etc.) No need for maps returning back downhill -- both routes are just down all the way.
很多桿牌用手電筒也無法判讀，何況車燈，打火機等等。 又高又對比已曬壞，故請白天來。 晚上或下雨時亦無人可問路。
Note many of the utility labels markers are not "flashlight compatible", being at such a high up angle and such faded low contrast, making them unreadable at night with flashlights, not to mention vehicle headlights or cigarette lighters. So get here in the daytime.
非您所有之沿路路旁水果請勿擇， 免得遭追。
Don't pick any roadside fruit along the way that doesn't belong to you, please. Let's avoid getting urned.
農民已回家也鎖了本路陡末段鐵鍊， 必改步行。 （備用燥坑路線則無鐵鍊）。
Also at night there are no farmers to ask directions, as they have all gone home, (same in rainstorms!), and locked the chain down the hill behind them... so you end up hiking up the hill anyway... (No chain on the alternate Zao Keng route.)

Speaking about rain, you may have noticed a metal roof. Well during a downpour that roof clocks in at 90 dbA on your noise pollution meter. I.e., forget about making phone calls or talking to your date, except underneath a heavy blanket, whereupon you will soon find your oxygen™ on empty. I whip out the construction worker grade earmuffs myself.

Bored with the rain, you might think "well I will just partake of one of my electronic pastimes". Yes, take no heed right there at the ridgeline of the lightning bolts sizzling past, and end up like Auntie Nelda, if not game over completely.

Elevation 777 meters, Temperature three degrees centigrade less than that reported for Taichung. Beware of any cold wet foggy weather forecasts.

衣服會粘鬼針草籽， 故穿舊的。 免帶水， 但帶泡麵， 萬一不愛吃…鬼針草。 純水、電碗、電是有的，免帶。
您最喜愛飲料粉狀即可。 勞駕液狀上山代表我水未達您標準！ 或我在搞「不明飲料」等陰毛論（妳想的）。 少帶點水，多帶點墜崖意外身亡保險…套…妳想的。
走路範圍內無任何商店或觀光據點。 一日恐夠無聊，除非您是草木土壤研究生， 冷氣團到則僅能研究霧。 九月初有柿。 芭蕉一般夠。
Wear ugly clothes, as they will only get uglier collecting lots of bidens pilosa, which in fact is about all there is guaranteed to eat too, so be sure to bring e.g., instant noodles. I've got plenty of pure water and electric stove and electricity to cook them.
In fact you would be a fool, a clod, to haul, schlep, your favorite beverage here in anything more than powdered form, with my plenty of pure water. Indeed, you would in effect saying that my water is not up to your standards! Or that I'll "slip you a mickey" (you wish!) Bring less water -- but more fatal cliff fall accident insurance ☻
Note there are no stores or tourist attractions within walking distance. Boredom guaranteed after one day, unless you are a forest and soil research student or something, or fog expert, during cold snaps). In early September there are persimmons. Plenty of bananas usually though.

You might bring plenty of mosquito repellent (which I however don't use because at night I use mosquito nets.)

No official bathroom, however there is a instant hot water shower in the living room.
總面積 Total area 1.17 公頃 hectares = 2.89 英畝 acres = 3539 坪 ping, 高點遠眺 perspective view; 許多平台太供露營 Many flat areas for camping; 森林步道 forest trails; 同屬台中東勢軟埤坑休閒農業區我下方業者， 每年四、五月螢火蟲宣傳大。 The tourist industry below me here in this Ruanbi Keng Agricultural Recreational Area makes a big deal about the firefly season every April to May. 我則有時屋內反而比屋外飛得更密！ Sometimes there are even more of them inside my house than outside!
