台灣政府大致上地名已採漢語拼音，惟
基隆、台北、新竹、台中、彰化、嘉義、高雄、屏東、花蓮、台東、金門、連江
這十二個地名本身，尚未採漢語拼音， 故所產生的門牌譯音住址有混合漢語拼音及威妥瑪兩系統 「破拼字」， 例如「新竹縣竹北市」之「竹」又 chu 又 zhu。一個台灣兩個制度：

或許只能淪為各地發起民調， 如「我們要拋棄台呸、新櫥、台沖、娼化、掐義、尻雄、屏痛、台痛、馬醋、聯強…！」。 惟僅希望他們選的是漢語拼音， 而不是什麼第三種方法， 如 2010 年新北市很不幸之例。 其漢語拼音暫不列上表， 留給官員們當考試題。

漢英巧合字 Chinese-English coincidences. 或許因為地名拼音永遠追不上今(及再百多年後)音，曾想放棄台灣拼音戰爭。 Indeed, maybe in the light that our place name orthography can never catch up to the current spoken form (e.g., Hanyu Pinyin of year 2150, perhaps not changed at all though), sometimes one thinks of giving up the Taiwan Pinyin battle...
